The Indigenous Territory of the Special Regime in Development of Alto Wangky and Bocay (TIRED-AWB), is multiethnic in nature and culturally colorful, different native peoples and ethnic communities coexist, product of historical, social, political, economic conditions, and in local scenarios of violence, forced migration and internal colonization. The majority are women between 20 and 35 years old, literate, unemployed or work with job insecurity, have reproductive services, but their access is made difficult by geographical conditions, or their spouses They are not allowed to use them. They have prenatal services and use them, the delivery is attended to more than 1 day of travel by river. It is concluded that pregnant and postpartum women, with the support of their husbands, family and midwives, access available maternal health services despite the socioeconomic and access difficulties in which they live. Most of the women indicated that they received their prenatal care, more than half even received four or more check-ups, either in health units or in a Maternity Home. The perception that women have about the care received is positive, they consider that they were well treated by health personnel, tests such as ultrasounds were indicated, and they received information about warning signs during pregnancy. The women appreciate that the conditions in the health posts, maternity homes or the Wiwilí Hospital do not differ between Miskito or Mayagna women and women who do not belong to these ethnic groups.

Voices of the Women of Wangki Tangni Indigenous women say 'no more violence' through the first radio station focused on women's rights on the Atlantic coast of northern Nicaragua. The project targets more than 63 communities in the region, organized by the communicators —defenders of women's rights— from Wangki Tangni, disseminating consistent information and providing a safe space for learning for women and girls, as well as men and children, on women's rights, human rights and indigenous concepts of peaceful life.
