RESUMEN 1. General Objective
The Intercultural Health Sector Policy aims to regulate intercultural health actions at the national level, in order to achieve health care as a human right, which favors inclusion, equal opportunities between men and women, guaranteeing the exercise of right to health of indigenous or native, Andean and Amazonian peoples and of the Afro-Peruvian population.
2. Scope
The Intercultural Health Sector Policy is mandatory in all institutions that provide public health services: Health establishments run by the Health Services Management Institute-IGSS, the Ministry of Health, Regional Governments (Regional Directorates of Health - DIRESA and/or Regional Health Management - GERESA or those that fulfill their function), Local Governments, of the Social Security of Health - EsSalud, of the Health of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru. As well as for institutions that provide private health services and other providers that provide health care throughout the country."
